Cybersecurity Audit for ERP SaaS Platforms

Cybersecurity Audit for ERP SaaS Platforms

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software delivered as a service has become the backbone of modern organizations, streamlining finance, supply chain, human resources, and customer management. With this central role comes significant exposure to cyber risks. SecureClaw recently carried out a comprehensive cybersecurity audit, combining Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), for one of the leading ERP SaaS providers. This initiative was aimed at strengthening the platform’s resilience against evolving digital threats and ensuring uninterrupted business operations.

Cyber Threat Landscape

ERP SaaS platforms face a wide range of cyber threats that can compromise both data integrity and business continuity. Data breaches remain a major concern, as unauthorized access to sensitive enterprise and customer information can lead to financial loss and reputational damage. Ransomware attacks pose another serious risk, with attackers encrypting critical ERP data and demanding payment for its release. Phishing campaigns and credential theft are common, exploiting user trust to gain unauthorized access. Insecure APIs and cloud misconfigurations can expose ERP modules to manipulation or data leaks, while insider threats - whether malicious or accidental - can undermine system security. Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks also threaten to disrupt ERP services, halting essential business processes.

Project Details

SecureClaw’s cybersecurity audit addressed these risks through a dual approach. SAST was used to analyze the ERP platform’s source code, identifying hidden flaws in application logic and coding practices. VAPT simulated real-world attack scenarios to uncover exploitable vulnerabilities across ERP modules, APIs, and infrastructure. Together, these methods provided a holistic view of the platform’s security posture.

The audit not only revealed areas requiring immediate remediation but also offered actionable recommendations to strengthen defenses, enhance compliance, and build long-term resilience. By leveraging SecureClaw’s expertise, ERP SaaS providers can safeguard their platforms, protect customer trust, and ensure seamless operations in an increasingly hostile cyber landscape.
